In September 2023, as part of the Erasmus+ program, mobility was carried out at ZSP Drobin as part of another international educational project entitled “Strengthening key competencies of students of the Technical Secondary School in Drobin – edition 2” number 2022-1-PL01-KA122-SCH-000070216.
The activity in the form of group mobility of students took place in Greece between September 18 and September 29, 2023.
The project involved cooperation between partner schools from two European countries – Poland and Greece. The host institution was 1st Secondary School in Katerini. 24 students of ZSP in Drobin took part in the project, accompanied by 3 school teachers as supervisors.
Participants for the project were selected in the recruitment process, to which students from classes with the following profiles were invited: sales technician, IT technician. Recruitment has been extended to include police and firefighter uniformed classes.
Project goal
The aim of the project was to increase key competences, in particular linguistic, digital, cultural, personal and social, and to raise the level of knowledge of mobility participants, including the core curriculum, learning new professional tools useful in further education and work, as well as equalizing educational opportunities by covering project and mobility of students with reduced educational opportunities.
Participation in the project was free of charge for all qualified students. All costs were covered by European Union funds.
Mobility was preceded by a special preparatory course. These classes were aimed at increasing the initial level of knowledge, competences and skills of students, so that each participant could fully benefit from mobility. The preparations included, among others: English or Greek classes. Participation in the preparatory course was obligatory for students qualified for the project.
Project topics
The subject of the project was related to developing marketing skills and building regional promotion strategies using new Internet technologies. The participants’ task, in cooperation with Greek students, was to design and implement multilingual websites promoting the regions they come from. The sites are the regions’ tourist offer.
10 days were allocated for the implementation of the substantive program. The work was carried out in international teams of several people, using design methodology and design thinking. At the 1st Secondary School in Katerini, students, together with Greek youth, participated in various activities and workshops. There were presentations from both schools and the regions the students came from. International groups worked on content for the design website, selecting the best photos and graphic materials. There were also lectures on website accessibility in accordance with the WCAG 2.0 standard, content positioning, copyright and their practical application in online publications. The groups analyzed the materials prepared by the students and jointly developed the concept of the website. During and after field classes, students collected notes and graphic materials necessary to complete the project. On the last day of mobility, each group presented the results of their work with great enthusiasm, which were assessed by the leaders. The end of the project was a summary of activities, the presentation of certificates and a farewell to colleagues from the Greek partner school.

Cultural program
Two days of mobility and the time after classes were filled with a cultural program, as well as various animations and sports games. It was a great opportunity to learn about Greece, its history, culture and art – as well as to improve your English language skills and strengthen important social skills!
Students visited, among others: Meteora, monasteries on huge blocks of rock that were built in the 14th and 16th centuries. They are included on the UNESCO list as a geological and natural phenomenon on a global scale. They also visited a workshop of Byzantine icons, thanks to which they learned about the process of writing them. They also went to the picturesque island of Skiathos, which belongs to the Northern Sporades archipelago, and the capital of the island is a town called Chora. Moreover, they visited Old Pantaleimon – a picturesque mountain town, and under the supervision of a dance instructor, they took their first steps in Greek folk dances. They also went to the charming town of Litochoro and visited the Museum of Royal Tombs in Aigai (Vergina). The museum is located inside a large mound. This underground structure was built to protect the found tombs of Macedonian kings.
